OURSE OVERVIEW

The primary aims of a Pre-Intermediate A2+ English course are to reinforce core language skills and extend learners’ ability to communicate in a wider range of everyday and semi-formal contexts. The course helps students progress towards B1 level and includes the following objectives:

Understanding Short Connected Speech and Texts

Objective: Develop the ability to follow simple narratives, short conversations, and texts on familiar topics, recognizing common cohesive devices and high-frequency expressions.

Describing Past, Present, and Future Events

Objective: Enable learners to talk about experiences, future plans, and routines using a broader range of tenses and vocabulary.

Engaging in Routine Interactions with More Fluency

Objective: Teach learners to handle everyday exchanges such as making arrangements, expressing opinions, and asking for clarification with greater accuracy and confidence.

Reading and Writing Short Extended Texts

Objective: Encourage learners to understand notices, emails, and short narratives, and to produce informal letters, notes, and descriptions with improved grammar and cohesion.


Prerequisites

To be eligible for enrollment in this A2+ Pre-Intermediate English course, a student must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Holder of Anglia Elementary or Equivalent Qualification:
    The student must have a recognized certificate at A2 level, demonstrating sufficient foundation to progress to Pre-Intermediate.

  • Relevant Educational Basis Determined by Testing:
    If the student does not hold a formal certificate, they must demonstrate readiness through a placement test assessing grammar, vocabulary, and receptive skills.

Only students who meet these criteria will be successfully registered, ensuring they are prepared for the demands of the Pre-Intermediate syllabus.
